Force-accepting a declined or stalled assignment

Override an official's decline (or an unresponsive assigned row) and lock coverage in, with the official emailed so they aren't blindsided.

Force-accept is the assignor's safety valve for last-minute coverage. It flips an application directly to Accepted from either Declined or Assigned, without waiting for the official to click anything. The official receives a clear "you've been confirmed" email so the next time they open their inbox they know they're on the match.

When to use it

  • Last-minute scramble, coverage is short, you've assigned the slot, and the official isn't responding.
  • Decline reversal, the official said no but circumstances changed (their conflict cleared, you've confirmed by phone) and you need their slot back without a fresh round-trip.
  • Verbal confirmation, you've already locked them in over text or in person and want the platform to reflect reality.

Where to find it

On the event detail page, any Declined or Assigned application row shows a Force accept action next to the usual buttons. The action only appears for event owners, co-assignors, and admins, officials can't trigger it on themselves.

What the official sees

The match shows up on their /my-assignments as Accepted. The confirmation email lists the event, the date/time/matchup, and a Review assignment button straight to the event page so they can see the details.
