Bluebridge fee modes
No fee, Post-fee, and Pre-fee — what each one means for what the payor pays, what officials receive, and what Bluebridge keeps. With a worked $310 / $310 example.
On every event powered by Bluebridge, the Compensation section has a Bluebridge fee mode picker with three options. The fee percentage defaults to 3% but is editable per event. This article works the math out in each mode using the same example: one head referee at $310 and one umpire at $310, for a sticker total of $620.
No Bluebridge fee
No platform fee on this event. Bluebridge processes the payment request as bookkeeping, but takes nothing for itself.
- Payor pays: $620
- Head referee receives: $310
- Umpire receives: $310
- Bluebridge keeps: $0
Post-fee (default)
Post-fee is the default. The payor pays the sticker total plus the Bluebridge fee on top — officials receive the full sticker amount. At a 3% fee, the fee on $620 is $18.60.
- Payor pays: $638.60 ($620 sticker + $18.60 fee)
- Head referee receives: $310
- Umpire receives: $310
- Bluebridge keeps: $18.60
Pre-fee
Pre-fee inverts the relationship: the payor pays the sticker total only, and the Bluebridge fee is deducted from each official's payout. Each official's net is the sticker amount times (1 minus the fee percentage). At a 3% fee, each $310 line becomes $310 × 0.97 = $300.70.
- Payor pays: $620
- Head referee receives: $300.70 (net of 3% fee)
- Umpire receives: $300.70 (net of 3% fee)
- Bluebridge keeps: $18.60 (combined)
Changing modes
You can change the fee mode and percentage on the event at any time before a payment request is created. Changing it after a request exists only affects future payment requests — existing requests keep the mode and percentage they were created with. If you need a previously submitted request to change modes, use Undo on it and recreate.
