Assigning yourself to a match or day

Working one of your own events? Assign myself puts you straight on the crew as Accepted, with no email and nothing to publish.

Plenty of assignors officiate too. On an event you own or co-assign, you don't need to apply and then approve yourself. Assign myself puts you on the crew in one click.

Where to find it

  • Dual-match seasons: on a computer, Assign myself sits at the right end of the matchup line. On a phone it's at the bottom of the match card, next to Assign.
  • Tournaments: under the day's date and count on a computer, and on its own line under the date on a phone.

It only shows while the match or day still has an open seat.

What happens when you click it

  • You go straight to Accepted and appear in the crew like any other accepted official. On a computer, a "You are assigned" pill takes the link's place.
  • No email is sent and nothing is added to your unpublished changes. There's nobody to tell.
  • If you had already applied to that date, your application simply moves to Accepted.
  • You count toward the officials needed, the staffing strip, and Action Items, and you can be made head referee like anyone else.
Same-day heads-up
If you're already on another match that day, a small icon appears next to Assign myself; hover or tap it to see what else you're on. An amber triangle means the other commitment is somewhere else. A blue map pin means it's at the same site, such as the other half of a men's and women's doubleheader. It's a reminder only and never stops you.

Who can use it

The event's owner and its co-assignors. An admin working on someone else's event adds themselves with the Assign dialog instead. It isn't available on tournaments set to the Per tournament apply mode, where a single application covers every day.

Taking yourself off

Find your name in the Accepted list on that match or day and click Release. If you're the head referee, click Unassign first to hand the role back, then Release.
