Duplicating an event

Start next season's tournament or schedule from an existing one: same settings and schedule, ready to edit before anything is created.

2 min read

Most events look a lot like last year's. Duplicate copies an event's setup into a new-event form so you only change what's different.

How to duplicate

  1. 1Open the event and click Duplicate in the header (the copy icon on a phone).
  2. 2The Duplicate event form opens, filled in from the original. Nothing is created yet, so you can close it without leaving a draft behind.
  3. 3Change what's different, especially the dates, then click Create tournament or Create schedule. You're taken to the new event.

What comes across

  • Tournament details: the name with "(copy)" added, sanctioning organization, USTA section, description, site location and address.
  • Dual-match season details: Team, Site, Report time, Program, home venue address and USTA section. The season is named from its Team and Program, so the copy has the same name as the original.
  • Compensation and hospitality: pay policies, default pay, payment vendor and platform fee, and every hospitality option with its details.
  • Access: whether it's public, which groups it's in, and a tournament's Apply mode.
  • The schedule: every tournament day with its officials count, or every match with its time, opponent or neutral-site teams, and officials count.

What doesn't

  • Applications and assignments. The new event starts with an empty crew.
  • Co-assignors and viewers. Add them in the form or afterward.
  • Tournament sites. Add them from the Sites card on the new event; venues you've saved are one tap away.
  • A dual-match season's Conference and which matches were conference play. Type the conference into the form, then switch Conference match back on with each match's pencil after you create it.
Check the dates
The copy starts with the original's dates. On a dual-match season, remove old matches from the list and add the new ones. On a tournament, dates that have already passed can't be unticked in the calendar, so duplicate a tournament before its dates have passed, or start a new event for next year's edition.
