Requesting release and blocking dates
When life happens, how to drop an assignment, and how to prevent matches from offering on dates you can't work.
Requesting release from an accepted assignment
On /my-assignments, find the accepted row and tap Request release. You need to provide a reason of at least 10 characters, the assignor sees it and decides whether to grant or deny. You stay assigned in the meantime, so plan early.
Blocking dates ahead of time
On your dashboard calendar, tap a future date and toggle Block. Blocked dates prevent matches on that date from showing up in your search. Assignors trying to assign you to a date you've blocked see a "Blocked this date" badge on your row plus a confirmation step warning that you marked the day unavailable. They can still send the assignment if they choose to, the block is advisory, not a hard prohibition, but the prompt ensures it's a deliberate override.
You can't block a date that already has an active application (Applied / Assigned / Accepted). Withdraw or finish the assignment first, then block.
When you assigned yourself
If you're an assignor and you self-assigned to a match on an event you own, you won't see a working Request release button, it appears greyed out with a tooltip reading "You're the assignor of this event, you can remove yourself directly." Use the normal release/unassign control on the event detail page instead; there's no one to ask for permission.
