Notifications and emails

Which emails Bluebridge sends, when, and what you can do about them.

Notifications2 min read

Bluebridge sends transactional emails when something happens that needs your attention. There are no marketing emails. Here's the full list so you know what to expect.

Emails to officials

  • You were assigned, assignor selected you for a date; tap Accept or Decline.
  • Your release was granted (or denied), outcome of a request release.
  • You were released by the assignor, they removed you from a date.
  • You were added to a group, an assignor put you in their private group.
  • New group announcement, the assignor (or admin) of a group you're in posted an announcement. Subject + body in the email; tap through to see the full feed.
  • You were made (or unset) the referee, assignor designated you as referee on a date (works on both college matches and tournaments; removed you = a follow-up email confirms it).
  • 48-hour reminder, heads-up before each accepted college match, and a separate per-tournament reminder before tournaments.
  • Match day reminder (referee only, college matches), sent ~2 hours after the match start time (or at 2pm Pacific if the assignor left start_time blank), reminding you to file the report once play wraps up. Tournament referees do not get this reminder; tournaments don't have a match-report flow.
  • Password reset, when you request one from /forgot-password.

Emails to assignors

  • New application received, an official applied to your event.
  • Official accepted your assignment, they confirmed.
  • Official declined your assignment, they declined; the date opens back up.
  • Official requested release, they're asking to be unassigned; approve or deny.
  • Match report submitted, a referee filed a report on one of your matches; goes to /match-reports.
Tuning notifications
Open Profile → Email notifications to mute categories you don't need. Officials see three toggles: Assignment activity (assignments, releases, reminders), Match reports, and Group announcements. Assignors and admins also see a fourth, Application activity (new applications and decline/accept replies on events you run). Account-and-security emails (like password changes) and platform invitations always go through and can't be muted.

Where do emails come from?

no-reply@bluebridge.tennis. To make sure they don't land in spam, add that address to your contacts.

Tuning notifications on /profile

Open Profile and scroll to Email notifications. Officials see three category toggles; assignors and admins see a fourth (Application activity). Each toggle mutes a whole group of transactional emails at once:

  • Assignment activity, assignments, releases, 48-hour reminders, match-day reminders, referee designations, and other assignment-related updates.
  • Application activity (assignors + admins only), new applications and accept/decline replies on events you run.
  • Match reports, for assignors, the email when a referee files a report; for officials, prompts related to report filing.
  • Group announcements, when the assignor (or admin) of a group you belong to posts an announcement.
Some emails always go through
Account-and-security emails (password reset) and platform invitation emails bypass the toggles entirely and are always sent. (Email-address changes are confirmed through Supabase Auth, outside Bluebridge's template system.) There's no way to mute these, they exist so you can recover your account and respond to a group invite even if you turned everything else off.
